Personalized Gift Idea

I absolutely LOVE giving gifts. There is just something about thinking of the perfect gift for someone and seeing (or hearing if you can't be there to see it) their reaction when they open it. I always have tried to put a lot of thought into the gifts I give and like them to be personal.

My mother-in-law just celebrated a birthday and I knew I wanted to make her something like the printables that I have started selling.
I asked her what her favorite Bible verse was and just left it pretty vague so she wouldn't know what I was up to :)

After she told me her verse, I began drafting up the print.

This is what I came up with:
I designed the print and then had it printed at Wolf Camera and then purchased the frame for her so that when she received it all she has to do is find a place for it in her house :)

She loved it btw!

If you want something similar for a friend of family member (or even yourself), I would love to design something for you! I just design it and email you the file for you to print!

Gifting Sugar Scrubs

I wanted to give Christmas gifts to some folks that were personal and homemade. Pinterest was a huge resource when it came to needing unique ideas of what to make.
As you saw in my last post, I stenciled on canvas bags and I needed some things to put inside the bags.
I have always loved foot scrubs and anything that makes you feel pampered. I saw a blog via Pinterest that had a bunch of sugar scrub recipes. You actually had to purchase the recipe book, but it was only $5 or so, not bad. I plan on making a lot more of these things and some for myself of course :)

I bought mason jars at Michael's as well as some cute Martha Stewart adhesive labels. I had scrap fabric that I used to decorate the top of the mason jar lid.
I think they turned out pretty cute :)
I am waiting to hear some reviews on the scrubs, but I can imagine they will be pretty good!

{Yes, I am nicknamed Sassy or Sassy Pants hahaha.}

Aren't those cute? They smell great too!

To get the recipes, visit the blog In Between Laundry

I can't give out the recipes since I had to purchase them, but I bet you can find tons of free recipes out there too. I just like that I have 24 different recipes now.

I hope this post is helpful when you need a personal, unique gift for someone.

Stenciled Canvas Bag

Hello blog world!! I have taken a little break from blogging due to the holidays and have focused my time on family. I am so excited because my mom is here this week and we are having so much fun doing what we do best...shopping! We are going to go to Abilene tomorrow to see more family and I can't wait!
We have given out all of our Christmas gifts so I can now share some of what we gifted.
I wanted to make a few things so the gifts were personal.
One of the gifts I made this year were stenciled canvas bags.
These are so easy and fun as well as inexpensive to make.

Here is what you'll need:
-Canvas bag (got these at Michael's for under $5)
-Fabric paint (it works a lot better with paint intended for fabric)
-Stencils of your choice
-Something to paint with (I like the foam brushes)
All you have to do is place your stencil in the desired place (I used tape to secure it down) and paint in the stencil. Doesn't get much easier than that does it??

How cute are these bags? They make great gifts and what woman doesn't love having multiple bags...they can be used as a purse, a Bible study bag, a great bag for a teacher, and the list goes on.

I loved this chandelier stencil! I may have to make one for myself :)This butterfly stencil was really cute to me too and I liked how it is kind of off-center...a little unexpected.

These are so fun to make and there are so many ways you can personalize them.
It would be fun for a girl's night to have a little craft to do.

Stay tuned for another homemade gift!
