I have been meaning to blog about our day at the Texas State Fair.
I have been to a few fairs in my life, but I knew I hadn't really been until I had gone to the TEXAS State Fair. Everyone here has told me that it is quite the big deal and that to be a real Texan, I needed to go. How many years do I have to live here to be a "real Texan" anyways?
My husband knew how badly I wanted to go to the fair so he planned a Saturday for us to go. We took the DART there to avoid all of the traffic and parking nonsense.
The weather was perfect and the smell of the delicious fried foods was overwhelming.
I really had not anticipated how expensive the fair was, but I am pretty sure it was worth every penny.
We rode one ride, ate corndogs and cheesecake, watched Cirque de Shangai, saw some cows, and people watched. It was a fun day and it made me feel a little more Texan.
Here are some pictures from our day :)
Here is BIG TEX!
They was a really awesome car show there! I think I look pretty good in a convertible :P
They had this truck in remembrance of the fire fighters from 9-11. It was really neat. The one ride we rode...these really awesome slides! It was basically $5 a person to ride this thing ha!
The line for the ferris wheel was ridiculous so I only got a picture :(
This is the best place to get delicious corny dogs!
The husband approves!

This is apparently the face I make when eating a corny dog.
We had a blast together and probably will go back every few years!
