Whew-y. I am tired! We have been working hard over here in Garland to make this house feel like a home. I think we have done pretty darn well! We got the dining room and guest bathroom painted. There are no boxes in sight (the two in our closet with my scarves and skirts don't count- gotta get organized in there). We have hung most everything in it's place, organized the kitchen, got the garage- aka man cave- all nice and put together, and are just doing some finishing touches.
But, let's keep it real here- I won't ever be "finished." I want to update some pillows, make some graphic art for the walls that I am sure I will switch out all the time, add some modern touches to the very traditional kitchen, get some curtains for the bathroom, and who knows what else!
I am not quite ready for a big reveal of the house yet...I know y'all are just dying to see it- ha!
However, here are a few of the elements of the decor so you can get an idea...

I am sure you have all seen these floating around the blog/Pinterest world and I had to have one! I made this starburst/sunburst mirror for $8...tutorial to come! This is in the master bedroom.
Wrapping this wine bottle in yarn was probably one of the easiest crafts I've ever done. I just love it!
Lovin' this herringbone rug I got from Urban Outfitters! Adds the right amount of pop to the family room and also gives it a modern feel.
A trio of plates hung in one of my favorite finds I found on the side of the road back in college. This is in the dining room. Lovin' that grey color we painted it!
Definitely had to hop on the chalkboard train. Re-purposed an old window and made it into a chalkboard for the kitchen.
Just a simple trench bowl with some decorative balls for the coffee table. Gives the room a natural feel without having an overwhelming centerpiece.
So there are some of the details of the decor we have done in the new house and I am really loving it so far.
I don't know what my style is exactly seeing as how I love a lot of the traditional elements while also starting to love the more contemporary industrial feel as well.
It's just a smorgasbord of what I love and it is really all coming together well!
Stay tuned for some pictures of the actual rooms....I am pretty OCD about having everything perfect, but I will try and get some pictures up soon!
Look for the tutorial on that starburst/sunburst mirror later this week!
